Former NFL head coach and current ESPN Monday Night Football analyst Jon Gruden hasn’t completely closed the door on a possible return to the coaching ranks of the NFL.
During an interview with Bryant Gumbel of HBO’s Real Sports, Gruden was asked what’s stopping him from returning to the field.
“I don’t know,” Gruden said via the Tampa Tribune. “I’m trying to figure out where I’m going. If the right opportunity presents itself, I will come back.”
One thing that’s likely keeping Gruden from returning, is that he’s still not over the fact that he was fired by the Buccaneers.
“I got fired; I was emotional,” Gruden said. “I was upset and I’m still emotional and upset about it to a degree when I think about it.”
Gruden ultimately has the choice to remain in the broadcast booth and make very good money or get back on the field and make even more money. Tough life.
