John Fox: Jim Irsay took a cheap shot at Peyton Manning

Colts owner Jim Irsay ripped Peyton manning for never bringing more than one Super Bowl title to Indianapolis.

Broncos head coach John Fox read the comments from Irsay and gave his opinion today.

“I saw the comments. And to be honest with you, I thought it was a bit of a cheap shot,” Fox said via the Denver Post. “To me, in my opinion, they were disappointing and inappropriate.

“Peyton would never say anything. He’s too classy to do that. They sounded a little ungrateful and unappreciative to me. For a guy who has set a standard, won a Super Bowl, won four MVP awards… be thankful of that one Super Bowl ring, because a lot of people don’t have one.”

I agree with Fox.  Irsay is lucky he had Manning.  Without him his franchise would never have been able to build Lucas Oil Stadium and his finger wouldn’t have a shiny Super Bowl ring on it.

I am 89 years of age a world war2 & Korean veteran. I am and was a good friend of Johnny Unitas & johnny Unitas son Jr. Unitas told me that this guy Manning who looks like Unitas is and will be great quarterback. He comes from a family that is for the fans and not for themselves. Peyton, has a special love for the game of football and the fans as well. I would love to meet him and shake his hand . What an honor that would be.

I knew the owner Robert Irsay when he was the owner of the Baltimore Colts. Irsay did not know the players names as he uses to refer to them as hey guy how you doing . He never took the time to know his players by their first names. What a pity for the fans in Baltimore to see someone like the Irsay family ruin a football team in Baltimore which had a tradition of a great football city in America. We once had peole who sold their own blood just to by tickets and at one time Memorial Stadium because of the love fans had for the Colts , that Memorial Stadium was called the largest outdoor insane asylum in the world.
