After this past Sunday’s late hit on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Joe Staley told him that no one is going to hit him late, according to ProFootballTalk.com.
After the incident, Staley and Kaepernick had a discussion. The audio will be played tonight, on the season debut of NBCSN’s NFL Turning Point.
Staley tells Kaepernick, “We’re setting a precedent.”
“I know what you’re saying,” Kaepernick says.
“No one is [expletive] hitting you late.”
Kaepernick again replies, “I know what you’re saying.”
Staley did the right thing by standing up for Kaepernick. Clay Matthews’ hit was late and dirty and should never have happened.
