After former New York Jets quarterback Joe Namath watched a pre-screening of “Namath,” which is an HBO and NFL Films Documentary, he realized how much he misses the connection he once had with his old team.
“I feel awful about it. I feel awful about my relationship with the Jets right now in the sense — I’m talking about the ownership, general manager and head coach,” said Namath, who’s ripped his former team numerous times this season. “I don’t want them upset with Joe, but damn it, I have to say what I see, what I think, what I feel.
“With the current Jets situation the last few years, I just tried to explain how I felt about things, and when we talk about our head coach, the Jets head coach, he’s unique. I’ve never seen that style in all the years I’ve been around football.”
The problem with Namath is not that he says what he thinks, but that he doesn’t filter it so that it’s not looked at like he’s completely ripping his team. Also by going public with his feelings, he’s automatically alienating himself from the Jets organization.

Joe Namath is an icon in New York, leaving us with our only Super Bowl victory, while leaving his blood , sweat and knees on the field. When he voices his concerns he does so as a fan. This man bleeds “GREEN AND WHITE”, he wants the Jets to win as much as any Jets fan!!!
