According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Joe Flacco will continue to work on a contract extension once the season is over.
Flacco’s agent Joe Linta believes Flacco is a top-five quarterback. Sorry but i respectively disagree.
Flacco is just too inconsistent during the regular season to be considered one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.
Now that the Ravens are in the AFC Championship game, Flacco’s price will only continue to go up. If the Ravens end up winning the Super Bowl, Linta will likely demand that Flacco gets a contract around what Drew Brees (5-yrs, $100 mill., $40 mill. guaranteed) of the Saints just landed. He’ll then be able to argue that both players have won a Super Bowl.
Now I know Brees is a much better quarterback, but in the NFL, it’s all about having a signal caller that can win a Super Bowl.
