Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco said that he spoke with safety Ed Reed about his criticism of him after this past Sunday’s win over the Texans.
Flacco of course downplayed the whole situation.
“I talked to Ed about it,” Flacco said. “It’s not really that big a deal. I don’t take things that bad. It’s Ed. It’s not a big deal.”
Flacco did admit that Reed’s commments about him getting “rattled” after getting sacked five times against the Texans, did catch him off guard.
Linebackers Ray Lewis and Terrell Suggs stuck up for Flacco.
“I wish those guys didn’t have to come to my defense,” Flacco said.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said he addressed Reed about the whole situation.
“I’m sure Ed wishes things had come out a little bit better,” Harbaugh said. “I know where Ed’s heart is. We know each other. We understand each other.”
“A lot of things people always try to put on the quarterback,” said Lewis. “It’s not all about Joe.”
Flacco has done a great job year in and year out when it comes to putting the Ravens in position to win. He has a 5-3 playoff record so far in the NFL.
“Joe Flacco is a straight-up winner,’ Lewis said. It ain’t about our quarterback. It’s about the Baltimore Ravens.”
