Jim Harbaugh's decision cost bettors around $75 million
According to the San Jose Mercury News, when San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh decided not to accept a penalty that would have given his team a safety and another two points against the Seahawks this past Thursday night, it’s estimated that bettors lost around $75 million.
Harbaugh felt like if he accepted a safety and the Seahawkls had a chance to kickoff that they could execute an onside kick and have a better shot of winning. By not accepting the safety and only taking the ball, they instead ran out the clock.
All I know is that I’m very happy that I don’t bet on any sporting events. I’m not sure how I would have reacted after this past Thursday’s game.
