According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets made it a point to avoid Darrelle Revis’ agents.
The Daily News has learned that the Jets’ contingent, which included GM John Idzik, Rex Ryan and Johnson himself, didn’t meet or contact Revis’ representatives during the combine, fueling speculation that Johnson simply doesn’t want to pay the Pro Bowl cornerback as the team enters a rebuilding phase in 2013.
The Jets front office brass found time to meet with the reps of Santonio Holmes, Dustin Keller, Jeff Cumberland, Austin Howard, Shonn Greene and LaRon Landry, but conveniently avoided Revis’ people.
Only an organization like the Jets make sure they don’t take care of their best player. This is why they’re so dysfunctional.
