According to Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson said that he would consider going back on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” for the second time in three years.
Johnson said that he’s heard that HBO might be interested in bringing them back on, but he hasn’t heard anything from them yet.
“I have heard that, but we have yet to receive a formal invitation,” Johnson said. “When we do, we will take a look at it.”
“It’s something we would take a look at with Mike (Tannenbaum), and the coach, and (director of media relations) Bruce (Speight), and I and others that we think would add value to that discussion, to see whether it is something we want to do,” he said.
Johnson was asked if the Jets has had informal discussions with HBO.
“Yeah but… nothing…,” Johnson said, stopping himself to explain, per Vrentas. “It’s a formal invitation that we can respond to, not an informal (one).”
Right now, HBO would be stupid to not invite the circus to town. Their ratings for “Hard Knocks” would be through the roof if the Jets are once again the main attraction.Follow PFZ on Twitter @ProFootballZone
