Jets have no choice but to start Mark Sanchez

Even though quarterback Mark Sanchez has looked horrible over the past few weeks, the New York Jets don’t have a choice but to keep him as their starter after giving him a hefty contract extension this past offseason that will pay over $3.2 million this season, and $8.2 million next season.  He’s also slated to receive more than $8 million in bonus money over the next two seasons.

Tim Tebow on the other hand is scheduled to earn less than $2 million over the next couple seasons, and isn’t on tap to earn any bonus money.  The Jets don’t have a choice but to play Sanchez because they’ve gone all in on him.
