Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com that this year’s team is better than last year’s team that finished the season with an 8-8 record.
“I think we’ve taken steps to improve our team,” Jones said. “We are a better team, no question in my mind, than we were at this same time last year. We’ve got a lot of work to do.”
The Cowboys certainly made some improvements to their offensive line, running backs, and receivers in this year’s draft. We’ll have to wait and see how they turn out.
Dallas also brought in defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin and his Tampa 2 defense. There’s been plenty of speculation as to whether it will work, since DeMarcus will now have to play defensive end–opposed to outside linebacker.
Jones is always optimistic about his team, but that doesn’t mean they’ll win more than eight games for the first time in two years.
