On Tuesday at the NFL owner’s meetings in Atlanta Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones admitted that his team’s window to win a Super Bowl is closing for the current group of players on the roster.
“Well, my window is getting shorter. Time goes by,” Jones told NFL Network. “I do feel real pressure because we do have players not only in (quarterback) Tony Romo, but (tight end) Jason Witten (and linebacker) DeMarcus Ware, to leave out several that are (also) in the prime of their career. And we need to strike and strike soon with those guys.
“(Coach) Jason Garrett feels exactly the same way about it and understands how urgent it is. Candidly, you’re looking through rose-colored glasses if we all don’t realize that now is the time to compete on the field.”
After seeing a team like the Giants win nine regular season games in 2011 and still win the Super Bowl, Jones doesn’t feel like the Cowboys are far off.
“When we see a team like the Giants come back with nine (regular) season wins and be world champion, then we know it’s there for most clubs,” Jones said. “That’s not taking anything away from the Giants. That’s just inspiring the Cowboys a little bit.”
The Cowboys have to talent to win a Super Bowl, but I don’t see the leadership that’s needed to get over the hump and I really have to question quarterback Tony Romo’s killer instinct to win games in the fourth quarter.

In order for the Cowboys to compete they need 1) a new owner 2) a new General Manager 3) a new QB 4) a new offensive line 5) a new defensive backfield. Other than that they are OK.
You’re sooo smart!
