On Saturday night, during the press conference of Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland, he took the time to address an article from the Sun-Sentinel that brought up the possibility of the Dolphins moving on from left tackle Jake Long after this coming season.
“I’d like to clear the air on an article,” Ireland said, per the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “I don’t normally go overboard on media speculation. But last night I saw an article about Jake Long. I have plans to keep Jake Long here for a long time. So, let’s don’t get ahead of ourselves. …We drafted Jonathan Martin to be a tackle on this football team, a right tackle on this football team. Let’s don’t speculate any further than that.”
The one thing I’ve learned from following the Dolphins, is that you can’t really believe everything they say, so until I see Long play the next 2-3 more seasons in Miami, I’m not believing what Ireland has to say.Follow PFZ on Twitter @ProFootballZone
