St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher did an interview with The Fast Lane on ESPN 101 in St. Louis (via SportsRadioInterviews.com) and indicated that quarterback Sam Bradford had a rough season in 2012 because of the lack of talent around him.
“His play was directly affected by the people around him,” said Fisher. “There’s times when it’s difficult to step up in the pocket and make the good throw. That’s not the quarterback’s fault. That’s whatever’s going on out front. We’re pleased with what Sam did. He’s got an exciting future. I know he’s really excited about coming back in here in April and getting started and not having to learn another offense.”
Even though Fisher stated the obvious, it’s pretty shocking to hear an NFL head coach essentially throw members of his team under the bus. But once again he is speaking the truth and hopefully his guys will learn from their mistakes.
