David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune indicated that he wouldn’t be surprised if Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler ends up getting a contract extension before running back Matt Forte and I can’t argue with him.
I don’t even expect the Bears to re-sign Forte, I think they’re dumb enough to let him walk in free agency after this season. They haven’t respected at all over the past year and I get the feeling that they don’t care if re-sign him or not.
Cutler still has two year’s remaining on a five-year $50 million contract he signed back in 2009. But let’s be honest quarterbacks make an offense go, not running backs.
