With out much of a surprise, New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul hasn’t been very impressive over the course of the first two weeks of the NFL season after underoing offseason back surgery.
JPP claims his back is now pain free.
“I’m fine, my back does not hurt at all,” Pierre-Paul said, via the New York Times. “That’s a good thing. But that doesn’t mean everything is back from a football-playing standpoint. I’m not playing like I used to, because my brain is thinking what to do, but my body isn’t responding yet. I’m getting healthier, and it’s getting better, but it isn’t there yet.”
Pierre-Paul felt like he played “terrible” in their season opener against the Cowboys, but after last week’s loss to the Broncos he thought he was average.
The Giants could use a break out game from Pierre-Paul as they look to capture their first win of the 2013 season this week against the Panthers.
