Jason Pierre-Paul could miss the Giants season opener

So far it seems like Jason Pierre-Paul’s rehab is going well.  Right now he believes he’s 75 percent healthy.  There’s no current timetable for JPP’s return.

According to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, it sounds like Pierre-Paul could miss the Giants season opener.

“A back is a really, really horrible thing to have, back surgery period, and you don’t want to rush back,’’ Pierre-Paul said. “I’m not concentrating on the first game, the second game, the third game, fourth game, fifth game, sixth game. I’m just trying to come back when I feel like I’m ready to come back.’’

Pierre-Paul says he doesn’t know if he’ll be ready for week one.

“I don’t know, only time can tell,’’ Pierre-Paul said. “It’s all on me to recover. I can’t promise nothing. I can’t say I will be back for the season opener.”

The most important thing is that JPP gets healthy again, not that he’s able to play when the regular season rolls around.
