Jason Garrett “absolutely” expects Jay Ratliff to remain on the Cowboys for 2013

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett met with the media on Friday at the NFL Scouting Combine and was asked about the future of defensive tackle Jay Ratliff.

Garrett replied by saying that he “absolutely” expects Ratliff to remain with the Cowboys for the 2013 season.

It’s interesting that Garrett would come out and commit to Ratliff with all of his off the field issues and the fact that if they release him, it would help them towards getting under the salary cap.

The Cowboys are $20 million over the cap and Ratliff has a $7 million cap number for 2013.
