According to Gerry Dulac of SportingNews.com, Steelers linebacker James Harrison was held out of practice on Thursday and may not play in Sunday night’s opener against the Broncos.
“Steelers OLB James Harrison did not practice today and his status for the Broncos game is uncertain,” wrote Dulac.
The Steelers have been planning on Harrison being ready for this week.
“The Steelers intended for Harrison to play against the Broncos, though on a limited basis. The plan was to spot him with backup Jason Worilds, who, like Harrison, returned to practice Monday for the first time since last season. Worilds has been out with a wrist injury, but he will play wearing a protective brace,” Dulac wrote.
Harrison recently under went arthroscopic knee surgery. If he does play, he’ll likely only play sparely.
