According to MLive.com, Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best isn’t participating in voluntary workouts.
Best is not participating in voluntary workouts, which began this week, and Mayhew would not say if he anticipates his running back to partake in any team activities this offseason. The former first-round pick is still on Detroit’s roster.
It appears unlikely – at this moment – that Best will play football again. Best has not been cleared to play football by doctors since sustaining a career-threatening concussion in 2011. He spent last season on the physically unable to perform list, and Detroit signed Reggie Bush in free agency to replace Best this offseason.
As much as Best wants to continue his career, it looks like it will be over soon.
