The Jacksonville Jaguars have removed tight end Marcedes Lewis’ franchise tag by signing him to a five year $34 million contract with $17 million guaranteed. There are incentives in the contract that could boost his total up to $38 Million.
Lewis has quickly become one of the top tight ends in the NFL by becoming a big part of the Jaguars offense in 2010 with 700 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns.
Down the road when the Jaguars transition to rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert, Lewis will be a great safety valve for himover the middle.
