According to The Florida Times-union, Jacksonville Jaguars tight endMarcedes Lewis might decide to hold out from training camp in hopes of getting a new contract.
Lewis signed the franchise tag that was placed on him by the Jaguars back in February. But he may decide that the tender isn’t enough and petition for a new deal now.
Lewis had his best season as an NFL tight end in 2010 with 58 receptions for 700 yards and 10 touchdowns. He’s developed into one of the top up and coming tight ends in the NFL over the past couple of seasons.
We will have to wait and see if Lewis shows up when the Jaguars open up training camp on Thursday morning.
