Jaguars GM: There will be a wide-open competition at quarterback

NFL.com’s Around the League asked Jacksonville Jaguars general manager David Caldwell if Blaine Gabbert is going to be the starting quarterback heading into the offseason and training camp.

“It’s going to be a wide-open competition,” Caldwell said.

Caldwell is excited about what Gabbert brings to the table.

“I can’t really predict what 31 other teams would do,” Caldwell joked. “But there are some really good things to get excited about with Blaine in terms of his size, his arm strength and athleticism.”

Looking back at the this past season, I could see Chad Henne challenge Gabbert for the Jags’ starting quarterback spot.

You guys still don’t get it. What’s the most important thing you need in Jacksonville? To make money! To make money you must sell tickets. Like it or not a Tim Tebow would do just that and oh by the way, he may not be a standout on the practice field, but somehow he cranks it up at game time and wins games. The Forty Niners are running an offense that was created at Denver under, guess who, and both teams were successful. The price is definetely right to acquire Tebow and the quarterback draft sucks this year at that position. Again,do you want to sell tickets or not?
