An anonymous Pittsburgh Steelers player came out last week and blasted linebacker LaMarr Woodley by saying he played “awful” and was “out of shape” in 2012.
Former Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward was a guest on the NFL Network’s NFL AM show and gave his take on the situation.
“When you lose so much leadership in the locker room, that’s when things present itself like that,” Ward said, per NFL.com. “Guys start finger-pointing, calling out other guys. That is not the Steeler way. We’ve always had a rule: We are a band of brothers. We’ve always collectively kept everything in house. … But there was no finger-pointing and calling each other out. That’s a total disarray, a locker room in disarray.”
Even though the Steelers locker room looks like a mess right now, things can get cleaned up very quickly. I expect things to be different in 2013.
