Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward set the record straight on his Facebook page on Monday by making it clear that he doesn’t intend on retiring and wants to still win another Super Bowl.
“I wanted take a moment to thank all of Steeler Nation for the love and support,” wrote Ward. “I’m sorry for the disappointing loss. I’m still depressed about it. We had a great year finishing 12-4 but our ultimate goal was to win the Super Bowl and we fell short. Hats off to Denver. I’m also getting lots of questions about retirement so let me set the record straight: I have no plans on retiring right now. I want to win another Superbowl. I don’t know where the media is getting this info from but rest assured that when I decide to retire, you’ll hear it from ME first.”
If Ward does indeed come back to play for the Steelers in 2012, it will be interesting to see what kind of role he has, because of all the young up and coming talent they have at the receiver position.

You suck Hines. Go ply your cheap shots in the prison league.
This is football he plays not a sissy sport. If you want to see a non contact sport watch swimming. Be a man not the whimp you appear to be.
Tough talk you little biotch.
Stealers shoulda got some contact on Tebow or D. Thomas. I bet Ike Taylor is a better swimmer than he is a CB.
How many teams can boast of having so many great young receivers that the subject of Hines Ward’s playing next year even comes up? If not a starter, he can certainly teach the young guys how to play the position with a “never give up” attitude, and most important, how to block the opposition. Too many young receivers don’t understand they must do more than catch the ball and run with it. Hines typifies what the position should be.
