Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks has a lot to prove this season now as he enters a contract year. One big question is if he can stay healthy.
According to the New York Daily News, Nicks sat out a portion of Sunday’s practice with tightness in his groin.
Yes, Hakeem Nicks has been on the field for the first two days of camp. No, he didn’t make it through the second day.
The oft-injured Giants receiver made a highlight catch over Corey Webster on a throw from David Carr during individual drills, but that was his final play of the day. He sat out all of team drills feeling tightness in his groin, according to coach Tom Coughlin.
Coughlin said he “really didn’t know” much else about the injury, although it’s an ominous start to camp for Nicks, who was hampered by foot and knee issues throughout 2012. Nicks, who is in the final year of his contract, had knee surgery in the offseason and took it slowly during the offseason training program as well.
