Hakeem Nicks was clearly disappointed that he was only targeted once during the Giants blowout loss to the Panthers on Sunday, since he had plenty of family and friends come out to watch him since he’s from North Carolina.
“It’s part of the game,” he said per the Newark Star-Ledger. “You’ve got to control what you can control. I can’t throw it to myself.”
The biggest problem is that quarterback Eli Manning didn’t have much time to get the ball out as he was sacked seven times.
Nicks did adjust his routes in hopes of helping Manning.
“Just (tried) to get open quick,” he said.
Nicks says he didn’t talk to Eli about the lack of throws his way.
“That’s out of my hands,” Nicks said.
