Greg Jennings takes a slight dig at Aaron Rodgers

Vikings wide receiver Greg Jennings was asked to compare Christian Ponder to both Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers from his playing days with the Packers.  It certainly doesn’t sound like he thinks very highly of Rodgers any longer.

“When you talk about comparing quarterbacks, it’s hard to compare guys. I’ll take Brett. He did it for so long. I got there in a period of time where Brett already was there (as an elite quarterback). Then the guy they have now, he sat behind Brett and he learned so much.

“Christian didn’t really have that opportunity. He had to jump in. The way you compare them has to be a little different. The guy they have now (Rodgers) was (essentially) a veteran rookie. It’s a little different, but Christian has tremendous upside. I think what I see now is a quarterback who’s maturing and who’s growing and wanting to learn and grow, which is huge.”

I found it odd that Jennings didn’t even mention Rodgers’ name when talking about him.  He certinaly wouldn’t have a Super Bowl ring with out him.  It sounds like he’s bitter towards him for some reason.

That guy the Vikings have now used to be a half-way decent receiver, but that was before he got hurt and before he got his sister to help him advance his career. That’s OK. We’ll see if the guy who has matured can throw the ball to the little guy who, obviously, is still fixated at the oral stage. It’s funny that after they leave the Packers the only thing we hear from them is what they say into a microphone. Does anybody even remember Javon Walker? I wonder if that guy the Vikings have now can even spell ingrate?
