Greg Jennings says his contract situation isn't a distraction

Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings has already indicated that he doesn’t know whether he’ll be back in Green Bay next season since he’ll be a free agent after this season.

Jennings has stated that he is only focused on making plays this season and nothing else.

“My focus is the 49ers and this year and putting myself in position to make plays for our organization and for this team and for the guys I’m lining up with. That’s my mindset,” Jennings said. “That’s always my mindset when I’m playing the game. I’m not worried about whether I’m going to end up here or whether I’m getting a contract done. That will take care of itself. Right now, my (mind) is on the 49ers, and it will be on the next opponent and the next opponent after that. I would love to be here. It is what it is. At the end of the day I’m going to play football, I’m going to play 100 percent every single snap.

“This is my locker, I want this to be my locker until I hang my cleats up and decide I’ll give this locker up to someone else.”

Jennings insists that his contract situation won’t be a distraction this season.

“It’s not a distraction, I’m not going to allow it to be a distraction,” Jennings said. “I’ve never allowed my individual off the field dealings that I need to take care of become a distraction to myself, let alone the team. I’m glad you guys are asking me now so we can kill because it’s a non-issue. It’s one of those deals where I can’t control the situation. I have an agent. He’s working diligently on that. He knows my stance on that. I don’t want to be involved that. I don’t want to worry about that from a week to week, day to day standpoint. The Packers have their people who work on that. My focus as a player and our focus as a team is the 49ers, and that’s the way we’re going about it, and that will be the way we go about it every week.”
