ESPN insider Adam Schefter is reporting that New York Giants running back David Wilson, sidelined for the team’s final 11 games with a herniated disc in his neck, will go under the knife on January 16. Wilson will have a procedure known as “fusion of the vertebrae” to repair the affected disc.
Giants announced that former first-round pick, RB David Wilson, will undergo neck surgery and his football future is uncertain.

Neck surgeries are a tricky thing, and there’s no guaranteeing Wilson’s availability to the G-Men for the 2014 season, or even whether the fumble prone back will be able to resume his football career at all.
