The New York Giants have announced that they’ve placed veteran cornerback Corey Webster on season-ending injured reserve and signed wide receiver Julian Talley to their active roster.
Corey Webster has played in only four games this season and today the Giants conceded he won’t again suit up and placed the veteran cornerback on injured reserve.
The Giants filled the open roster spot by signing wide receiver Julian Talley off their practice squad. Talley might be needed for the Giants’ game in Detroit Sunday if his fellow UMass alum, Victor Cruz, is unable to play because of the concussion and knee injury he suffered two days ago vs. Seattle.
You have to wonder if Webster has already played his last game for the Giants. I would guess he has. The Giants have to improve their secondary in the offseason.
The 31 year-old Webster is due $1 million next season, but the Giants can void his contract after this season.
