Giants expected to prioritize re-signing Linval Joseph, might be in for a big rebuilding year in 2014

Dan Graziano of believes the Giants might be in for a big rebuilding year in 2014 after staring out 0-3 this season.  He believes they’re going to make sure they re-sign defensive tackle Linval Joseph and build their future around him.

Hakeem Nicks and Justin Tuck aren’t the only Giants mainstays about whom you can say that. This is a significant year for both Nicks and Tuck, each of whom is eligible for free agency at season’s end. But there are other Giants whose contracts aren’t necessarily expiring but who could be shown the door due to combinations of financial and performance reasons. They include offensive linemen David Baas, David Diehl and Chris Snee, cornerback Corey Webster, maybe safety Antrel Rolle …lots of guys facing make-or-break-type seasons that are off to poor starts. And at this point, based on the way this year and last year have gone for some of these guys, the only pending free agent I would expect them to prioritize is defensive tackle Linval Joseph. The Giants could be embarking on a significant rebuild.

The Giants are loaded with talent, but guys like Tuck and Rolle has been underachieving for the past few years.  It might be time to move on from several big name players.
