Giants disappointed in Brandon Myers’ production

New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese made it clear today that they’re disappointed with the way tight end Brandon Myers played this season after signing him to replace Martellus Bennett.

Myers caught 47 passes for 522 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Myers’ numbers weren’t terrible, but he wasn’t the security blanket that Eli Manning and the Giants offense needed.

“The offense is broken” per the owner. While the O-line’s largely responsible for that, Eli does own a good hunk of it too. Coughlin stated Eli has lost trust with some receivers. So, fix the line is job #1, but as soon as FA opens up JR ought to show Mara he’s serious about fixing the broken offense — go after Jimmy Graham to replace Myers. Tell me Eli wouldn’t want that target, and that target wouldn’t mitigate the risk of not having a top shelf #1 WR when Nicks departs. The new OC would certainly feature Graham prominently in his offense, and with Victor Cruz, Ruben Randle, Jerrel Jernigan, and… after cutting Murphy, FA acquisition Jeremy Maclin, who’s rehabbing well and has become expendable with the emergence of Riley Cooper, as the 4th WR.
