Giants cut Painter, placing Manningham, Holliday on IR

The New York Giants have cut quarterback Curtis Patiner, which means Ryan Nassib has won the back up job.

Nassib played great this preseason after a rough start.  It seems like Ben McAdoo’s offense is a great fit for him.

New York is also placing Mario Manningham and Trindon Holliday on season-ending injured reserve.

Manningham just isn’t the same player he was before he tore his ACL in 2012.  This will give him an entire year to get himself ready for 2015, if he wants to continue his career.

Holliday on the other hand was brought in to return kicks, so it’s unfortunate his season is already over.
