Giants believe David Diehl has an MCL injury

According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, the New York Giants believe that offensive tackle David Diehl suffered an injury to his MCL during today’s win over the Buccaneers.

Giants offensive lineman David Diehl, who left Sunday’s game against the Bucs with a knee injury, has had an MRI.  The results, however, aren’t known yet because no doctor was available to read the film.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, it’s feared that Diehl has an MCL injury only.  Often, a torn/sprained MCL does not require surgery, since the rope-like ligament heals on its own with rest.

Looks like we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to get the official word on Diehl.
