Confidence in the NFL is a good thing. So when New York Jets’ quarterback Geno Smith says “regardless of anything,” he will be the starter next year, it isn’t anything shocking.
Newsday’s Kimberly Martin has the quote from Smith:
“Regardless of anything, as long as there’s a season next year, I’ll be starting,’
That comment contrasts yesterday’s comments from Smith’s head coach, Rex Ryan, who said he’s not ready to commit to the second year player as their starter.
Like I said, this confidence is a good thing from a quarterback. Though I’m sure the Jets’ front office would like Smith to keep those comments to himself.
