According to ChicagoBears.com, rookie right tackle Gabe Carimi underwent successful knee surgery to repair connective tissue around his patella and medial collateral ligament.
Carimi injured his knee back in week 2 against the Saints. He’s expected to be ready to go before the Bears open training camp next season.
Bears offensive line coach Mike Tice looks forward to working with Carimi in 2012.
“First of all, I felt when he got hurt in New Orleans, he was playing as good of football as anyone we had,” Tice said. “I’m definitely happy to have that pick. We’ll bring him along slowly and build the confidence back in that leg and then pencil him right in there.”
