Future hall of fame quarterback Kurt Warner agrees with Dallas Cowboys great Roger Staubach about current Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo being an elite player.
“Look around the league and tell me, of the elite quarterbacks, who would you take above him?” said Warner. “You have Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers and maybe Ben Roethlisberger. But then who else? He’s right below them.”
“I think he brings everything to the table. He’s a winner. He can make plays outside of the normal, everyday throws. He has to learn the game a little bit more, and no question he’s going to grow. But I definitely think he’s an elite quarterback and will continue to get better throughout his career.”
I could name some better quarterbacks then Romo. Michael Vick and Eli Manning come to mind when thinking about guys id take over Romo as well as Matt Ryan. Don’t tell me Eli’s overrated because of Peyton. Romo hasn’t won the playoffs games that Eli has won as well as a Super Bowl MVP award to go along with the Lombardi trophy.
Don’t get me wrong I believe Romo is a very good quarterback, but I can’t say he’s elite until he wins some more playoff games and at least gets his team to the NFL Championship game.
