According to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Falcons have decided to keep defensive end Osi Umenyiora even though he was unwilling to take a pay cut this offseason.
Umenyiora will return and no restructure of his contract is planned, according to general manager Thomas Dimitroff. Also, defensive end Kroy Biermann will be back and there is no restructure planned for his contract, either.
Umenyiora is scheduled to only make $2.5 million in 2014. Taking a pay cut wouldn’t make sense for him. Especially for a player who had 7.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 1 interceptions in 2013.
