According to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, everything’s been quiet when it comes to cornerback Brent Grimes getting a long-term extension done with the Falcons.

Ledbetter pointed out that the Falcons don’t have enough cap room to get a deal done before next offseason.  So Grimes will have to play the 2012 season under the franchise tag and then start negotiating with the Falcons after the season.
