Eli Manning would rather have Burress back than Barber

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning spoke to the media yesterday about who he’d rather have back on the Giants since Plaxico Burress is now out of prison and Tiki Barber is attempting to make a comeback after four years removed from the NFL.

“Probably Plaxico just because he has probably fonder memories of winning a Super Bowl and that catch for the touchdown in Super Bowl XLII,” Manning said yesterday on the Dan Patrick Show. “Tiki ended on a bad note and it’s really a shame, he should be remembered as a great Giants running back and a terrific player, because he was. Just kind of the way he went out and burned a few bridges with the fans and kind of went after me a little bit, it’s unfortunate. I’m not happy about it in that sense, so I think Plaxico would probably be welcomed back a little quicker.”

Eli knows who helped him get his first Super Bowl ring and it wasn’t the guy (Barber) that quit the year before because he thought he’d be a great fit for television.  It was Plaxico Burress who literally limped through the entire season on a bad ankle to lift the Giants to a championship.

Barber has been humbled by his divorce and his failures in television,  but i still don’t believe he gets it.  After his argument with Mike Francesa on WFAN about whether he failed at NBC,  it showed me he’s still very arrogant.  It was obvious that he was a failure and he wouldn’t even admit it.  Now he wants to try and come back and prove he’s worth something.  Because right now,  nobody cares about Tiki Barber.
