According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Eagles head coach Andy Reid benched wide receiver DeSean Jackson during today’s loss to the Patriots.
“I just wanted to give the other guys an opportunity,” Reid said when asked about Jackson’s benching.
When Reid was asked about how Jackson played tonight he had the following reply, “You didn’t ask me that last week. If we have bad game, you feel comfortable asking. We have to do a better job all the way around.”
“It was the decision that was made. As a player, I just have to live with it,” said Jackson with regards to being benched.
This is once again a reason why the Eagles will likely not sign Jackson to a long term contract anytime soon.
