Drayton Florence may be headed to the Lions

According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Lions are close to signing free agent cornerback Drayton Florence, who was just released by the Broncos on Friday.

“The Detroit Lions are still in the market for cornerback help, and they may have found their man in Drayton Florence,” wrote Birkett.

Nothing is official as of yet, but something could get done very soon.

“The deal is not yet official, two Lions sources said, but it could be soon. Florence, who played five seasons with Osgood and shares an agent (Drew Rosenhaus) with him, is expected in town for a visit and physical today,” reported Birkett.

Florence would certainly be an upgrade for the Lions secondary.  They just released Alphonso Smith who was definitely not getting the job done.
