According to Jeff Darlington of NFL.com, a Miami Dolphins source told him that they only offered Matt Flynn $4 million per year because they weren’t convinced he’s a franchise quarterback. The Seahawks ended up agreeing to pay Flynn $8 per season over three years.
I believe the $8 million per year that the Seahawks agreed to pay Flynn, wasn’t a bad deal for either side. Ireland is probably afraid of bringing another quarterback that flames out like Chad Henne did.
