According to Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com, a Miami Dolphins source told him that “Jeff Fisher used us.”
The Dolphins probably feel Fisher used them to gain leverage, even though ESPN’s Adam Schefter insisted yesterday that Fisher wasn’t taking extra time to gain leverage.
Mike Silver of Yahoo Sports laid things out plain and simple on why the Dolphins didn’t end up with Fisher. He stated that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross wanted current general manager Jeff Ireland to retain his current level of power within the organization. And that Fisher was willing to meet half way with regards to power over personnel decisions and Ross wouldn’t budge because of his loyalty to Ireland.
So that’s basically why Fisher is headed to St. Louis and the Dolphins look stupid.
