DeSean Jackson: Michael Vick “has to go out there and prove” himself

It was very surprising early in the offseason when new Philadelphia Eagles’ head coach Chip Kelly decided to keep Michael Vick, after much speculation the he would be released. DeSean Jackson recently said in and interview with NFL Network  that he knows Vick has “a lot to prove”.

“You know, Mike Vick is at the point in his career, he’s 32, getting a one-year contract, he has a lot to go out there and prove.

Needless to say, Vick is going to have pressure early on to win this quarterback competition as he is seen as an early favorite to start. After losing his starting job to then rookie Nick Foles last year and with the possibility to the Eagles drafting West Virginia’s Geno Smith, Vick is not only going to have to win the job early on, he has to preform or he faces losing his job once more.
