Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson told ESPN’s Lisa Salters that he tried to protect himself last season to keep himself from getting injured.

“I let it get to me, even though I tried not to let it,” Jackson said. “I was trying to protect myself from getting hurt – now I’m just giving it all.”

On Tuesday, Jackson went on Twitter and complained about the media “twisting” his words.

Everyone who watched Jackson last season and has some sort of football sense could see that he was scared to go over the middle and was afraid of contact.
