Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware is most likely the only NFL player to receive a pay check during the current lockout.
Ware received a $6.5 million check from the Cowboys as a part of deferred payments that were owed to him. The check was given to him on March 15. Which was three days after the owner locked out the players. The payment was deferred to how his 2009 contract was negotiated.
This payment for Ware couldn’t have come at a better time since players will not be paid if the lockout ends up affecting regular season games. Now Ware will be taken care of for the coming season, whether football is played or not.
