According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, former NFL safety Darren Sharper has been charged with drugging and raping two women in Los Angeles. One incident occurred in November, the other in January.
In both incidents Sharper is accused of following a similar pattern of raping women whom he had invited to his hotel room and given them liquid shots possibly containing Ambien and morphine, causing them to pass out, prosecutors said.
Sharper, 38, is currently being investigated in a rape case in New Orleans, and L.A. prosecutors revealed Friday that he is also being investigated for rapes in Arizona and Nevada. His attorney in New Orleans has maintained his innocence.
Sharper allegedly met two women at a night club in West Hollywood and made an excuse to bring them back to his hotel room on their way to another party. He then gave them a shot, which made the women pass out.
One woman claimed she woke up naked after being sexually assaulted and the other says she woke up while he was in the act.
Update: Court documents now claim Sharper raped 7 and drugged 11 women.
