Via the U-T San Diego’s Michael Gehlken, running back Danny Woodhead and and cornerback/fill-in strong safety Marcus Gilchrist will also miss San Diego Chargers’ preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Gilchrist will be sitting out due to a hamstring issue and will be replaced in the game by Darrell Stuckey. Woodhead has been held out of practice since Friday with an unknown reason. The pair will join receiver Vincent Brown who will also miss Thursday’s game.
As a fan of starting players not having their season ended in preseason, I think this is a great move. Last year the team lost both Brandon Taylor, whom Gilchrist has replaced while Taylor is rehabbing, and receiver Vincent Brown in the preseason. And so far in practice, the Chargers have lost three players to ACL injuries.
